As a singer and actress with a penchant for comedy, Jennie enjoyed stints with a sketch comedy group (Punch 59), “Laughing Gas Comedy Improv Company” (www.laughinggasimprov.com) and had great fun performing with NYC’s “Hanging Cow Productions” (http://www.hangingcowproductions.com/).
Some of the particularly interesting singing jobs Jennie has had over the years include lead singer with a hot Irish folk band, “working” the Christmas scene as a Dickensian caroler and singing her “Gorilla Song” dressed as, you guessed it, a gorilla …as a hired singing telegram. But mostly, Jennie prefers hanging out behind the mic as a voice-over talent.
In the VO biz for 15 years in South Florida and in the Greater New York area, she has studied with Connie Zimet, Wendy Dillon and Paul Liberti. She’s been the voice of two of the Care Bear dolls, “Wish Bear” and “Luv-a-lot” bear and the voice of “Cora,” the cartoon girl that is part of Nice-Pak’s "Sani-Hands for Kids" (www.coraandcory.com) campaign. She was a resident VO talent and writer with the Daily Comedy Network and some of her other clients include: Hershey’s Kisses, Kraft, Burger King, DSW, Alltel, Midas, Pizza Hut, Applebee’s, Travelocity, AT&T Media and lots of other local, regional and international spots.
For the past 10 years, Jennie has volunteered her time as a regular “reader” for the sight-impaired with WLRN Public Radio in Miami (FL) and InTouch Radio Networks in NYC. At present, she is the producer, reader and editor for the People Magazine Show with Gatewave, NYC (www.gatewave.org), which is broadcast nationally via satellite.
When she has a spare moment, Jennie enjoys cruising antique stores and writing children’s songs.
*And in case you’re wondering: “Hey, what’s with the feline?” …it’s Oliver Twist, her “sunny” (no pun intended) 20 pound ball of orange fuzz who is a most cool studio cat. |
